THE 4th OF JULY given a reading at the Kraine Theatre in NYC, November 2015

My short comedy THE 4th OF JULY was given a reading on Nov. 23rd, 2015 at the Kraine Theatre in New York City.  The event was produced by the Lama Theatre Company as part of their Monthly Question series.  This month the question was, "What Does America Have to Be Thankful For?"

SYNOPSIS:  A housewife who is an ex-Marine goes on a rant to her women's group about Mexican immigration - and has a very sympathetic take on it.

One-act A CONSTANT MAN to be produced in Aberdeen, Scotland at the end of May, 2015

My long one-act A CONSTANT MAN will be produced in Aberdeen, Scotland on Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at the Quids in Theatre's Lunchbox series.  It will be a fully-mounted production (not a reading).

 SYNOPSIS:  This is a drama about a boy growing up and, by the time he is middle-aged, coming to terms with his mother's encroaching dementia.

Monologue HARRY to be performed at the Boston Theatre Marathon's "Sprints"

Short comic monologue HARRY will be performed at the Boston Theatre Marathon's "Sprints" event on Saturday, May 9th, at the Boston Center for the Arts.  The "Sprints" are warm-ups for the longer program of plays being presented the same day.

HARRY is about a young man describing his loss of virginity to a woman he meets by accident on a park bench.

On Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16th, my short serio-comedy ELEANOR will be produced in an evening of plays written by women at the Whistler House Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts.  Show at 8:00pm.  Produced by Jerry Bisantz and Ann Garvin of the Image Theater.

As part of the Act 2/No Lie Notts/FONT Fest in Nottingham, England, my monologue THE BIG HAT will be produced along with two other scripts in May.

SYNOPSIS:  Marnie is a young woman whose sole ambition is to be a "slut."  Well, not exactly.  We find out through Marnie's speech that what she really always wanted was to take after her long-lost aunt, who was sexy and "attracted men to her like molasses."

Based on the Harvard professor Gates and Sargeant Crowley racism debacle in Cambridge, Mass., July 2009, BROTHERLY LOVE is about an African-American Harvard professor and his wife and a white brother and sister coming to terms with their relationships and current events taking place in Massachusetts.

Monologue AMARILIS at "Claiming the Space," Newburyport, Massachusetts in March 2015

In celebration of Women's History Month, "Claiming the Space" takes place March 13th-15th and 20th-22nd at the Actors Studio of Newburyport, Massachusetts.

My monologue AMARILIS, included in the series, is about an elderly Dominican woman remembering her Haitian husband's murder during the Parsley Massacre of the 1930s.

BROTHERLY LOVE to be read at DC Black Theatre Festival in June, 2015

My short drama BROTHERLY LOVE has been chosen for the DC Black Theatre Festival's New Words Reading Series in June 2015 in Washington, D.C. (This is a big festival, which they expect more than 25,000 people to attend.)

The play is based on the Harvard professor Gates and Sargeant Crowley racism debacle in Cambridge, Massachusetts in July 2009, where a Harvard professor was arrested for trying to enter his own home.
